4 Things You Can Do To Fight Your Allergies
If you are worried about allergies, there are several things that you can do that will help you fight off allergens in your house and keep you from having an allergy attack in your own home.
Shower Before Bed
One thing you can do is to shower before you get in bed. It doesn't have to be immediately before bed, but at least some time in between when you come home and before you go to bed. That's because the shower will help wash off the allergens that you collected from outside. If you wash them off before bed, then you aren't taking them to bed with you, where you would be up close and personal with them during the night. Doing that can help you have a more restful sleep.
Ban Pets From Beds
Another thing that you can do is to ban your pets from your bed. If you have problems with allergies from pet dander, keeping them off your bed means that you aren't going to get the little bits of dander left behind. In fact, you may also want to ban them from your bedroom altogether and just keep the door shut.
HEPA filters are designed to filter out incredibly tiny bits of dust and allergens out of the air. You can use HEPA filters in your vacuum to help trap things while you vacuum so that they aren't thrown back out into the air. But, those aren't the only places you can put these filters. You can also put them in your heater or air conditioner. When you replace the other filters with HEPA filters, you are going to catch more things and make sure they aren't blown all through your house. Just make sure that you check them regularly; a dirty filter is less efficient and can cause allergens to get into the air.
You can also hire HVAC companies like Kayvon HVAC to come out and clean your air ducts. When they do that, they will get all the dust and allergens out of the ductwork. That means that they will clean out the ducts as well as the registers and the intake registers. Nice clean ducts should mean that you aren't going to have allergy attacks from whatever may have been in them.
